Celebrating its 32nd Year – July Is Disability Pride Month

July is Disability Pride Month, and it’s a great time to reflect on how important website accessibility is for everyone.

It’s estimated that about one in four people have some sort of disability, and many of them rely on the internet to stay connected and engaged with the world. But if websites aren’t accessible, they can’t take advantage of all the internet has to offer.

That’s why it’s so important that all websites are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Website accessibility doesn’t just mean making sure the site can be used by people with disabilities – it also means making sure it can be used by people of all ages, abilities, and technologies.

There are a few simple things you can do to make sure your website is accessible to everyone:

– Use clear and concise text that is easy to read.

– Make sure your site can be navigated using a keyboard or other assistive devices.

– Include alternative text for images and other media.

– Use colors and fonts that contrast well and are easy to read.

Making your website accessible doesn’t have to be a big undertaking – small changes can make a big difference. So take a few minutes to think about how you can make your site more accessible, and help create a more inclusive online world for everyone.
